Terms & Conditions
By booking or participating in a tour with Big Island Family Tours (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Reservations & Payment
All reservations must be made through our approved booking channels. Full payment may be required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
A reservation is not confirmed until payment has been successfully processed and a booking confirmation has been issued.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Guests who cancel 48 hours or more before their scheduled tour will receive a full refund.
Guests who cancel between 24 and 48 hours before their scheduled tour will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the tour, as well as no-shows, are non-refundable.
If Big Island Family Tours cancels a tour due to weather, operational issues, or circumstances within our control, guests will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
If a cruise ship is unable to dock in Hilo and guests are therefore unable to participate in the tour, a full refund will be provided.
Late Arrival Policy
Guests arriving more than 15 minutes after scheduled pickup may be considered a no-show.
Itinerary Changes
Tour routes, stops, schedules, and attractions may be modified due to weather conditions, road closures, park closures, volcanic activity, safety concerns, traffic conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.
No refunds or partial refunds will be provided for itinerary adjustments resulting from these circumstances.
Guest Responsibilities
Guests are responsible for arriving at the designated pickup location on time.
Guests are expected to follow all instructions provided by their guide and comply with applicable laws, regulations, park rules, and safety requirements.
Big Island Family Tours reserves the right to refuse service or remove any guest whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, unlawful, abusive, or negatively impacts the experience of other guests. No refund will be provided in such cases.
Health & Physical Requirements
Guests should be capable of entering and exiting the vehicle and navigating uneven terrain, stairs, and walking paths encountered during the tour.
Individuals with medical conditions, respiratory sensitivities, mobility concerns, or other conditions that may affect participation should carefully consider whether the tour is suitable for them.
Guests participate at their own risk.
Children
Children are welcome on our tours. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children are properly supervised and secured in accordance with Hawaiʻi child passenger safety laws.
Parents and guardians are responsible for providing any required child safety seats unless otherwise arranged in advance.
Alcohol, Smoking & Vaping
Consumption of alcohol inside the tour vehicle is prohibited. Hawaiʻi law does not permit open containers of alcohol in moving vehicles.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the vehicle. Guests may smoke or vape only where permitted during tour stops and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Personal Property
Guests are responsible for their personal belongings at all times.
Big Island Family Tours is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Photography & Marketing
Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during tours for promotional, marketing, or social media purposes.
By participating in a tour, guests grant Big Island Family Tours permission to use such images unless they notify us in advance that they wish to opt out.
Force Majeure
Big Island Family Tours shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, itinerary changes, or service interruptions resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, volcanic activity, government actions, labor disputes, public health emergencies, transportation disruptions, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Big Island Family Tours shall not be liable for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or expense arising from participation in any tour except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi.
